Dr. Jack Hewitt received his doctorate of Chiropractic at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at The University of Western Ontario. He is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has over 7 years personal training experience with elite level athletes. Jack is a registered Trigenics Physician and is also a certified Functional Movement Specialist.

Dr.Hewitt's interest for Chiropractic started when competing on the the Ontario windsurfing team.  His coach was not only the Canadian Olympic windsurfing coach, but also the Canadian Olympic team chiropractor.  He was a great teacher and mentor and inspired Dr. Hewitt to pursue a wellness lifestyle and career.  Dr. Hewitt realized the importance of a clean diet, proper training, a positive attitude, and the maintenance of optimum joint health through regular chiropractic mobilizations. And most importantly, how to balance of each of these aspects of health in order to compete at the highest level possible.

Following high school, Dr. Jack attended the University of Western Ontario, where he majored in Kinesiology with a focus on human biomechanics and exercise physiology.  During his undergraduate career, Dr. Hewitt put his education into practice and started personal training at the largest gym in Canada, GoodLife Fitness Clubs.  After seeing such good results with his clients, Dr. Jack saw a larger business opportunity within this franchise of gyms.  Using his knowledge of human biomechanics and exercise physiology, he designed a series of "sixty-day fitness success programs" that were based around functional/core training.  He called these series of standardized training programs BodyFit60, and published a book for each program.  BodyFit60 became a bigger success when GoodLife Fitness Clubs adopted the program into 108 locations across Canada in order to standardize the quality of training throughout the entire company.

A few years after starting a successful personal training business, Dr. Hewitt decided to pursue his chiropractic career, and moved to Newport Beach, CA to attend the Chiropractic program at the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS).  During his internship at SCUHS, Dr. Hewitt was part of the DTA honors society, he was a mentor for the SCUHS student mentor program, he was a member of the healing hands for humanity (H3) club, and he regularly volunteered at events such as LA Derby dolls, High School Preparticipation sport physicals, and the National Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk.

During this time at SCUHS, Dr. Hewitt also became a Registered Trigenics Physician (RTP).  He was fortunate to be personally instructed by the founder of Trigenics, Dr. Allen Austin. Trigenics is a unique and dramatically effective muscle treatment system which combines recent advances in applied functional neurology with new manual medicine procedures. With Trigenics your nervous system is treated to essentially reset the way your brain communicates with your body.   Dr. Hewitt was featured and published in the September Issue of Canadian Chiropractor Magazine for an article he wrote about Trigenics Myoneural Medicine.

Dr. Hewitt is also a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), which is the elite certification of personal training and athletic performance enhancement.  This certification is governed by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).  Individuals obtaining the prestigious CSCS must have attained at least a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or a chiropractic medicine degree granted by an accredited institution. Today, only 21 000 professionals worldwide, from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds hold this credential.  They posses the knowledge and skill to train, develop, and improve the fitness, wellness, and performance of their clients.

Dr. Hewitt has competed at the elite level in cross-country mountain biking, windsurfing, and is a two time Canadian National sailing champion.  Dr. Hewitt is an avid surfer, and his most recent passion is competing in Triathlons.  As Dr. Hewitt continues to compete and train for various sporting events, he has now become the teacher and mentor to many of his patients who are striving to achieve optimum performance, health, and wellness.  The true meaning of doctor means "teacher", and a large part of Dr. Hewitt's patient management deals with patient education, ultimately allowing each patient to take control of their own health.  He takes the title of doctor very seriously and treats every patient with the highest degree of  professionalism and ethical integrity.  Dr. Hewitt looks forward to meeting you, and helping you take your health to the next level.
